Champions book sale for NHS

We are donating the proceeds from the sale of two books celebrating Lancashire's 2011 title success to NHS Charities Together.

THANKS TO YOUR SUPPORT WE HAVE RAISED £250 SO FAR

We live in very strange and difficult times. Shopping at the supermarket two meters apart seems to be quite normal now, even enduring queues doesn't matter.

Yet although we are all two meters apart somehow we are closer to others with phone calls and e-mails to long lost friends, the small acts of kindness we see around us and the volunteering and acts of self-sacrifice we see from strangers.

We may be walking farther apart but we are closer than ever. We also see the generosity of people, the £30 million raised by the 100 year-old Captain Tom. Sport seems a long way away at the moment and it is a small sacrifice that it is not happening and will be one of the last things to come back.

The NHS and workers in Care Homes rightly draw our admiration and need all the help we can give them. We risk going out to the supermarket, they risk their lives every day.

Our small token is to give away some books and ask for donations towards the NHS Charities Together. This week Lancashire are celebrating winning the County Championship in 2011, a time no supporter will ever forget.

Here at Max Books we are donating the proceeds from two of the books we produced at the time 'Champions-about bloomin' time' telling the story of the season and a also a cartoon book also telling the story of the season in an amusing way. We are asking for a donation to the NHS Charities Together for the books. All the money raised will go to this cause — Max Books will stand the postage.
