Forthcoming books for 2019

We have three new books-and a booklet-due out in 2019

Born in Bolton by Geoff Ogden profiles all the 36 first-class cricketers born within the metropolitan town borough of Bolton, and includes two in-depth articles about Bolton Cricket by Jack Williams & David Kaye.

2019 is the centenary year of poet Francis Thompson, known in cricketing circles for his famous poem about two Lancashire opening batsmen, 'O my Hornby and Barlow long ago'.

Francis Thompson — a Limited Edition booklet of 35 pages by Paul Edwards includes all Thompson's cricket poems.

In addition we are publishing a book by Ken Shenton 'O my Hornby and Barlow long ago'
. Ken has gone into a lot of research regarding the life of Thompson who was a well regarded poet, and this is a fascinating insight into a somewhat troubled man.

Our third book features the legendary Lancashire and England cricketer A.N. Hornby.

A.N.Hornby — a personal Scrapbook is a very unusual scrapbook compiled by two local historians in Nantwich. It is a limited edition of 200 and runs to 300 pages.

Further details on all these publications will appear soon.
