Christianity at the Crease is the final book written by Eric Midwinter before his death in August 2025.

It examines the long entanglement of cricket and the church, which sometimes frowned upon the sport, and sometimes found it a useful tool.

The book takes in 17th-century Puritanism and Victorian Anglicanism, as well as the decline in formal Christian belief, especially from the 1960s, alongside the commercialisation of professional cricket and recreational cricket’s loss of momentum.
